Those wishing to leave legacies to the Congregation are advised that such a bequest should be made in the following or similar terms. Legal advisers should be notified accordingly.
"I give and bequeath to the Trustees for the time being the Spanish and Portuguese Jews' Congregation, 2 Ashworth Road, London W9 1JY for the general purposes of the said Congregation the sum of £............... free of duty and declare that the receipt of the Treasurer of the said Congregation shall be complete discharge for the same."
If it is particularly desired that the legacy shall be devoted to a specific purpose, prospective testators or their legal advisers are strongly urged to obtain written confirmation from the Congregation, at the time of drafting the will, that such a legacy would be acceptable, as far as can then reasonably be foreseen.
